Fabric
Due to the nature of fluorescent dyes in Safety colours, special care must be taken throughout the decoration process.
Here are some tips to effectively decorate printed fabrics:
• Garment temperature must not exceed 320°F or 160°C. Exceeding this temperature may cause discoloration.
• Dryer temperature and belt speeds must be changed accordingly for fluorescent colours. Check the dryer for proper clearance. When placing garments on the belt, carefully lay them as flat as possible to avoid high spots that may touch the inside of the dryer or come closer to heat elements. Garments touching a hot piece of the dryer may result in discoloration.
• If flashing these garments, do not exceed 2-3 seconds and care should be taken to not have the flash cure unit too close to the garment
Screen Printing:
• Dwell times in the dryer need to be limited to no more than 90 seconds
• Do not exceed recommended dryer temperature
• Check with your ink supplier for more information.
Heat Transfer Tips:
• Direct heat contact can cause discoloration. Use cover sheet/flexible application sheet to shield upper platen from garment
• Do not exceed recommended temperature
• Check with your heat transfer supplier for more information
A test sample run is recommended, especially if you have a large order or if your printer does not specialize in printing on performance fabrics.
